OraMetrix Completes 2003 with Significant Accomplishments, Poised for Breakout 2004

RICHARDSON, Texas February 4, 2004 -- OraMetrix, Inc., developer of SureSmile®, 3-D digital imaging technology that enables computer-aided orthodontic treatment planning and robotic archwire customization, announced that several major milestones were achieved in 2003 creating strong momentum for commercial ramp-up in 2004.

“Our main objective for 2003 was to introduce SureSmile to the orthodontic practitioner market and demonstrate that the technology and process can be adapted to an established practice that sees as many as 150 patients a day,” said Charles Abraham, CEO. “We have been successful in teaching our customers how to apply the system and are now seeing the clinical results to validate it.”

OraMetix’s major accomplishments include:

• Installed customer base of 16 orthodontic practices by end of 2003
• 590 patients have entered SureSmile treatment through December 2003
• Billings (amount invoiced customers for new patients starts) of $433,000 through December 2003 up from $34,000 in 2002
• 8 new U.S. patents issued (bringing total to 21)
• Rolled out SureSmile 4.0 providing powerful diagnostic and treatment simulation tools for the doctor
• Moved corporate headquarters from Dallas to a 25,000 square foot facility into the Richardson (suburb of Dallas) high-tech corridor with specialized space to include:
  • Training facilities and Clinic facilities to educate customers in intra-oral diagnostic imaging using OraMetrix’s OraScanner®
  • Infrastructure to house up to 4 wire-bending robots to bend customized shape memory alloy (SMA) archwires

The company expects to leverage these accomplishments in 2004 to penetrate into the broader orthodontic market.
